Todd practices general business, nonprofit, and employment law and serves as Fractional General Counsel to several businesses and nonprofit clients. In addition to law, he is a tech entrepreneur focusing on developing productivity apps for children and adults with ADHD.
He spent his first eight years as a lawyer litigating complex commercial, employment, and civil rights lawsuits. He transitioned in-house for the next ten years as general counsel at Meharry Medical College and then Soles4Souls. In 2013, he started his own practice, which today exists as T McKee Law.
Todd writes regularly on topics of nonprofit, employment and business law and is a frequent speaker and lecturer. As adjunct professor at Lipscomb University, he created and taught the course “Conflict in Nonprofit Settings” and has been a guest lecturer at Vanderbilt School of Law and the University of Tennessee School of Law on topics of nonprofit law and corporate governance.
As a trained mediator, Todd relishes opportunities to not only mediate litigation disputes, but also opportunities to assist nonprofits in crisis restore balance and harmony to their governance and management.
In his spare time he plays and builds guitars, and can fake it on drums, mandolin, and banjo. He also composes classical pieces for string quartet, which you can hear at toddmckee.music.
